Wyoming Dust

In Wyoming the landscape became sparse.
Pointed spikes of Yucca clung tightly to the barren gray hillsides
Water easily evaporated off the red desert 
Solitary windmills gave mere hints of water.
Water, the one thing that made green appear; allowed cattle to graze.

Prairie, that is the way I felt. I felt like we had really reached cowboy land
